King Kong

i ventured back to the big screen... i dont know why i keep attempting to go to the movies late at night when i have been up since 6am.. i am thinking that is part of the reason of my disapointment....well this movie was well anticipated for me... but then a lil before i was going to be going to the movie, i found out how long it was... and i think that that put me in a negative mind frame from the get.. i didnt read any other reviews before my viewing, bc i didnt want to ruin the movie at all...
so i went in feeling tired and cranky and anxious.. and i left tired and cranky and upset that i was disappointed.. dont get me wrong, it was filmed wonderfully and i did enjoy it.. but by NO means did it need to be 3hours long... there was at least a good hour of footage that was not necessary...and the other major let down was that they left out how they got a massive beast like King Kong from an island in the middle of nowhere to the big apple... now that couldve been some intersting content.... i would recomend this movie BUT with the stipulation of watching it at home in the comfort of your own home with the possibility of the pause button so you can stretch your tush...

Fantastic Four

ok... now i hate to bust anyones bubble that was all about this movie.. but i was GREATLY disappointed in this film.. i had my hopes up pretty high.. lets just say that in the beginning, there was a little bit of hope.. but it just quickly disappeared... this movie did not follow thru in the least... i got a text message during the final fight scene of this movie... and before i finished reading it, the fight was over...initially i was going to rewind and rewatch the scene.. but then i figured, it happend so fast, i could probably imagine a better "end".... i do NOT recomend and am glad i didnt waste the money to watch this when it was on the big screen...

War of the Worlds

so.. this movie by far beats the original.. i by mistake rented the original movie thinking it was the new one... and that was a rough one to get through..regardlesss, this movie was action packed and full of adventure.. the graphics were very well done... it had you gripped in and intrigued all the way through.. and then the end happened.. i am not going to ruin it for you and tell you exactly what happened(even though most of you know how it turns out anyay)but the problem with this movie was the end.. it just kind of happened...i was expecting a lil more substantial of an ending.. and this left me overall disappointed with the flick... i would recomend renting this movie for the visual stimulation.. but if you are looking for something to complete it, maybe stop watching with about 15 min left and make up your own in your head.. it might lead to be a lil more satisfying..

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

so last night i ventured into the fun world of assassins....now this movie had alot of hype.. and i love the two main actors...but when it first started, i thought i was going to be disappointed bc it was very slow moving.. it took a bit before the entertainment started to kick in.. but once it started it was on... this movie was alot of fun and definately quirky.... but talk about a couple who likes it rough... i wonder if they would have survived 5, i mean 6, years of marriage if they didnt lie to each other from the get.. they probably would've killed each other in the bedroom.. anyhow.. this movie comes highly recomended in my book.. it was cute and adenturesome.. all around a good time!

The Machinest

so i was recomended this movie by several people... i was told that it was really good.. and i am a fan of Christian Bale ... so i began my movie watching... i am not 100% posotive that reading this won't ruin the movie for you if you havent already seen it.. but i will do my best.. so here goes...
first off, if you are queazy, i may steer you away... there were certain scenes when looking at christian, or as his character was known, Trevor Resnik, was quite unbearable... but it is quite amazing what lengths some actors will go to for a part that they want to play... anyway.... he is a machinest, who has been an insomniac for the past year.. and as you can imagine, that is NOT a very good combination....and the movie unravels the chain of events to explain his insomnia and the quirky qualities of Trevor....the movie starts more at the end and then kinda flashes you back to get you updated.. and then eventually continues where it started...and the pieces all get put together...it was filmed very well.. and the acting was superb... but for me, i didnt find the movie to be as enjoyable as expected.. maybe bc it came so hightly recomended... but i just felt like it was quite predictable... and it led me to be not so interested... to be honest with you, at first it had me quite on the edge of my seat, but somewhere along the line.. i lost interest and kinda got a feel for what was going on... overall, not the best movie.. but it was fairly good and i would recomend that you check it out... but dont get your sights set too high.. and maybe it will be better for you than it was for me...
